Time and Life

The clock is ticking by,
nor too quick neither slow,
at its own unhurried pace
since the creation of time.

Yet life as it seems fly too fast,
within hours of when we are born
from our cradles we reach the grave
and the carvings on our stones
start to fade in a day or two.

Has time always been this fast from up close?
