on the Moon

Poems

As the moon rose above the cityscape,
for the umpteenth time I gasped at the sight
and blood rushed to my ears to make them red,
longing for a touch of her silver light!

Then I knelt down before the rising moon
and pledged my love to her in whispers, mild.
The ensuing silence from her made me think,
perhaps the moon would marry me tonight!
