Love The Moon, Instead

Poems

I think, I’d rather love the moon, instead;
for she is more pristine in the real world
than she’d ever be in my fancy dreams,
unlike others that I have come across,
although charming, in beauty never close
to what I had imagined them to be.

Yes, I know she has a pitch black side too,
a part that neither had nor ever will
wake up to the warmth of the rising sun,
unlike others that I have come across,
like polished diamonds groomed and glistening,
though dark as hell beneath their brightened skin,
made up with poison, rogue and mascara.

Now do you see why one should love the moon, instead?
