The yellow sun bids adieu to the winter days,
ushering in the wind of change,
as it returns from the tropic of Capricorn,
whispering, the spring too will shortly come!

My eyes ache from the glow as I try to stare back
at the sun, in a bid to let it know
I too had once returned to find
an emptiness where my home was supposed to be!

I heard the place was burned down ruthlessly
by the previous year’s sun, when it lingered
upon the tropic of Cancer, where I was born
near two scores of years ago!

I wish some dark grey clouds would come to soothe my eyes
from the glaring sun and dilute the pain inside!
