My name is Golam Wahedur Rahman. My colleagues and friends call me Amit. I was born in 1980 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. After completing my higher secondary schooling I went to Singapore for a Diploma Graduation on Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.
After two broken marriages, a BA Honors in English and a ragged career as a software engineer and a broadcast journalist I have opted to take writing as my sole endeavor of life.
I welcome you all to my humble blog! I hope my poems will not offend you in any way! See, I am a believer of all the religions. I am in absolute love with Jehovah, God, Allah and Brahma and I absolutely adore Zeus, Socrates, Confucius, Krishna, Moses, Buddha, Jesus and Mohammed. So to any believer of a single creed, my words may sound blasphemous and even heretic. if that be the case you have my earnest apology in advance!
In brief, I am a loner, to the world an outsider forever, walking on the lonely path of life. Yet I love to see and drink life to the lees and I love reading English poetry.
Amit, I wholeheartedly agree with your view of all religions are bound by the golden thread of love
I’ve read Rumi, de Mello, Merton, The Bible, Bhagavad Gita all bring me home, I look forward to reading more of you

I remember reading a biography of Ghandi when I was in my teens. It stood out to me when he was asked once about what religion he ascribed to…and he would not align himself to one religion… rather he said that he was a hindu, a muslim, a christian, a jew, a buddhist. …
I knew at once, in that moment of reading those words, that there was great wisdom and enlightenment in the consciousness behind his words. I always tried after that to keep my mind open to the wisdom of great men ( and women) and wise teachings of any and all religions.
As you say about Zuess and mythology, there is even something to learn from mythology. Humanity encompasses sin as well as compassion. ..selfishness and jealousy… as well as sacrifice for others. Mythology has many revelations that are as important as anything in the bible.
As for offending others… as you know they will be offended no matter what you say…or whom you claim to align with.. or not… judgement of others is probably the most common human sin… I have given up in trying to please others with my behavior and thoughts. those who are ready to hear truth will hear….others will resist with criticism.
I fully enjoy the raw humanity in your writing…and the beauty of your words on the page
Namaste,
Annie

Hi again my friend. It is with great interest that I read your ” About Me” passage and I see that you have had many an experience upon this earth already and that now you are focusing completely upon your writing. I wish you much joy and fulfilment in your years to come in this wonderfully expressive Artform.
It was with great pleasure that I read Parts 1 and 2 of your For Evelyn Poems. I thought you captured the soul’s yearning and hunger to be reunited once more from whence it came, most beautifully. I loved the “darkness…a blindness from excess of light” and heavy wings dragging me down back to this earthly existence…” You describe the soul’s polarity and man’s clumsy ignorance so so well. Thank you for sending me the link. I believe we carry the original blessing and a spark of the Creator within each and every one of us. All “organised” Religions carry the One Truth, but how fragmented and hopelessly entangled they have become. We are meeting with our Sufi teacher tomorrow after the long festive break…where all creeds, all faiths, all religions are embraced and there is no distinction. A breath of fresh air!

I humble send my best wishes to your Sufi teacher. I am an ardent believer in Sufism and also of the fact that all religion from prehistoric to post modern speaks of the same truth and divinity. Welcome back and a belated happy birthday!

I loved your introduction, my belief system also work in similar ways but will not have courage to express the way you write.
That is why i have written my comment on your latest post ”religion”
“who explains the truth is not important , but understanding about truth has all wisdom”
All the very best to life ahead!!
LikeLiked by 2 people
yes, understanding the truth is of utmost and of only importance, a debate to find out whose words are clearer or more accurate will only beget disharmony! if I do not see the truth in what you say, it is not your words but perhaps my vision is at fault. for being a creation no one can contemplate beyond its template. so when one says that one does not believe in God, one is only proposing one’s faith in a being held to be ungodly by the existing religions. but even that being is God. That is why St. Bernard said,
“He alone is God,
who can never be sought in vain
even when He cannot be found!”

LikeLiked by 2 people
now to that I must vehemently object! if you must label what you see, I urge you to call it simplicity or perhaps lacklusterness, for calling it genius or brilliance would be grossly misleading, no? I have nothing more (perhaps less) than what any and every human beings have. you cannot call me a genius unless you agree that all human beings are genius. but once you agree to that then I am only an average, nothing more, nothing less!
LikeLiked by 2 people
I can’t agree more…
Don’t catch words feel the essence.
I have a respect for you i don’t know how to express???
Philosophy of genius and average i loved which you have explained profoundly.
Let say you are one who understand who you are!!
People who know who they are are rare…
Don’t know how to close your objection humbly, all the best.
LikeLiked by 2 people
it is ok my friend! I know what you feel and I also know that words are often insufficient for describing our feelings in their entirety.
and to your immense praise that I understand myself (for that is the highest praise one can give to another) I can only offer my humble gratitude to you. if we take the example of greatest of minds like that of Socrates and Einstein (those who truly understood what they were) had to confess in the end that they could only gather a few pebbles from the beach of the ocean of knowledge and that they know nothing. for them it was difficult but for me, with their excellent examples in front of me, it was easier for me to say I know nothing.
and the objection has long been withdrawn with due apologies from me!

:p ok! let us try a different thread of argument! you see awesomeness in me because you are awesome! if you were hideous, you would have found only hideousness in me. do you not agree? for wisdom says, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. so at least say, “You are awesome like me!!!” that is easier to digest for me than just “You are awesome!!!”(as if no one else is not)…. no objection, just an observation!
LikeLiked by 3 people
I agree beauty lies in the eyes of beholder not in the “object.”
“Accepting appreciation humbly is an art ”
Some times it need courage!!!
If can’t do more, let me bow my head gracefully in return to your words of appreciation.
