If tonight be the lowest point
of my fall, would I start to rise
up from tomorrow or is life linear?
I think not, for I can still remember
shredded glimpses of a bygone height
and of a pinnacle in a slow decline!

For some to have it all there ought to be
some others to give up their all
and for everything I ever had
there was a scarcity across the hall
but if sorrows too hold the same,
you are glad, for I have been lame!

In between meekly Tommy and
revered Mister Atkins I have
often wondered which one fits me the most
or perhaps you do not discriminate
between a spirit and a ghost,
indifferent, so long as life gets by!

Lordly serpents avoid me but nevertheless,
I still have a life to expiate its’ pettiness!
